The Amusement Park in the Mall
There are lots of stores and restaurants in the mall but what makes this place truly special is its huge Nickelodeon theme park. There are rides, shows and attractions that will delight children of all ages.
Kids will find their favorite characters in the Kidzville zone and thrill rides like a Zamperla Rocking Tug themed to the SpongeBob franchise. There’s even a log flume and a carousel.
Mall of America
Mall of America is a ginormous shopping and entertainment complex in Bloomington, Minnesota. It opened in 1992 and is the largest mall in the United States. It has over 520 stores and 50 restaurants, including the Nickelodeon Universe theme park which features roller coasters and other amusement rides. It also houses a 1.2 million-gallon aquarium and a comedy club.
You’ll need tickets to ride the attractions at Nickelodeon Universe, and they aren’t cheap. You can buy them in advance online or at one of the kiosks in the park. You can also purchase them at the Ticket Counter located near the entrance to Rock Bottom Plunge, or at guest services desks in the mall and at Nickelodeon Universe.
Besides the amusement park, there’s also the Sea Life amusement park in the mall Aquarium, which is Minnesota’s largest. It’s an eye-opening experience, with stingrays and sharks swimming behind glass and kid-friendly interactive exhibits. You can even go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium for an extra fee.
If you’re not a fan of roller coasters, you can also get lost in a mirror maze. This is a fun activity for all ages, but be prepared to collide with other shoppers while you try to find your way out. Or, if you want to do something completely different, check out the Crayola Experience, where you can make your own custom crayons.
Mall of the Emirates
The Mall of the Emirates (MOE) is one of the largest shopping centers in the world, located near Interchange 4 on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. It features 630 world-class stores, including a mix of high-end designer brands and popular main street names. It also houses a massive Carrefour supermarket and the Middle East’s first Harvey Nichols department store.
Besides shopping, the MOE is also home to several entertainment and leisure attractions. You can hit the slopes at Ski Dubai, a snow park and the first of its kind in the region, or take a trip to Dreamscape, a VR experience that takes storytelling to new heights. There’s also a community theater, two hotels, and a large selection of restaurants.
If you want to see a movie at the MOE, check out the VOX cinemas, which feature luxury seating and a range of unique experiences. The VOX 4DX adds motion simulators, scents, and water to the usual cinema viewing experience, while Theatre by Rhodes takes it even further with private lounges and food prepared by renowned culinary artist Gary Rhodes. Alternatively, you can catch a game of bowling or go for a ride on the RoboCoaster, a 2-person thrill ride. Those who would prefer to stay indoors can opt for a visit to the Magic Planet, a massive family entertainment complex.
Citrus Park Mall
When the Sears department store closed at Citrus Park Town Center mall amusement park in the mall in Tampa, Florida, it was replaced by a family entertainment center called Elev8 Fun. The 125,000-square-foot two-story facility offers indoor go-karts, a huge arcade and a blacklight mini golf course. There are also 12 bowling lanes, laser tag, axe throwing, and a ropes course.
PrimeTime Amusements, the company behind Elev8 Fun, is betting on a new model to lure people back to shopping centers. Its strategy is to redevelop empty spaces in existing malls and add new experiential concepts that will draw families back to their local malls.
The company has already opened one location in the Orlando area, and a second one is scheduled to open in Tampa in May. The Tampa location is the company’s second and will be located in the former Sears space at Citrus Park Town Center.
Spectacular shopping, dining and entertainment in a unique Main Street setting. The mall features major department stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s, and JCPenney and a mix of popular brand-name apparel and accessories stores. It also has a 20-screen Regal Cinemas and a double-decker carousel.
The Westfield Citrus Park DICK’S Sporting Goods is a great place to stock up on gear for your next sports season. Whether you’re training for a marathon or getting ready for the football season, you can find all the essentials you need. The store also has a large selection of athletic shoes and workout clothing.
American Dream Mall
American Dream Mall is the most futuristic mall in America and is home to a variety of attractions and stores. From roller coasters to 4D cinemas, the mall has something for everyone. This unique shopping experience also includes a large food court and several restaurants. It has even been visited by celebrities. The mall is a great place to spend a day with the family.
In 2022, Hasbro partnered with American Dream to launch the first ever branded game room. The new venue is located near the SeaLife Aquarium and features a variety of games and activities. Guests can compete against their friends in a game of Skee Golf or test their skills at the Mirror Maze. In addition, the American Dream Mall is also home to a LegoLAND Discovery Center, where kids can let their imagination run wild.
While the American Dream Mall is an interesting concept, it has had a troubled history with its construction and has faced many challenges. The mall was designed by architects GH+A and Adamson Architects and has a minimalist, white design. Its curved atriums and escalators that look like ramps make it look almost futuristic.
The project was first conceived in 2006, but the economic downturn caused the project to be delayed. It was eventually relaunched in 2013 by Triple Five Group. The group realized that brick-and-mortar stores were not surviving the shift to online sales, so they pivoted the complex and billed it as an entertainment destination instead of just another mall.
